GENERAL INFO

The LBOA assigns referees for ALL GAMES using a third-party online provider called Arbiter Sports.  Prospective officials are required to know the software well enough to receive assignments as well as communicate their own personal availability to the Association Assignor.

The Arbiter App

LBOA officials are expected to download the Arbiter App to their personal phones.  The App provides many useful features that will make receiving game assignments even easier.

The App is available for FREE wherever you retrieve your Apps.

Online Resource

LBOA members should use this page as a first point of reference for Arbiter.  It provides useful tips on how officials can use the software to its full capability.  If you need help with…

  • Getting started

  • Blocking dates and times

  • Accepting games

  • Blocking sites, teams, partners, travel limits

  • Updating your profile

  • Partner’s contact information – with whom your refereeing that day

  • Getting your schedule

  • Lists and reports from the Association (i.e. membership contact list, etc.)

  • Arbiter Officials' Help Page

Payment

Even though Arbiter provides an option to receive game payment through the software, the LBOA to date cannot justify the administrative expense for the service against the volume of scheduled games.  With this in mind, the LBOA usually pays for services rendered once a season – in March, or early April.

When In Doubt…

Don’t get frustrated with Arbiter!  It just takes a couple weeks to get used to.  Call someone from the membership list to help steer you straight, or remember – just GOOGLE “Arbiter” and a search term that you’re interested in… usually a really helpful video will pop up that will guide you to find a solution.
